  • The necessary CO2 reduction of motor vehicles leads to higher demands on battery technology (AGM).
  • Growing demand for start-stop batteries (AGM) requires significant capacity expansion at the Hanover site

Area of responsibility:

  • AGM Expansion Manager (investments approx. €85m)

Task:

  • Management of the capacity expansion project
  • In some cases, existing systems are to be converted.
  • New plants are to be fully integrated into the existing material flow.

Measures:

  • Establishment of a project organization with interfaces to production for effective coordination of conversion and new construction activities
  • Development of the new, future-proof factory layout
  • Development of the future factory organization
    (including training for managers)
  • Tracking project progress incl. Cost controlling
  • Regular communication to the workforce

Successes:

  • No production interruptions during the expansion
  • Optimized logistical processes
  • Future-proof layout with options for further expansions and changes in the future

Special challenge:

  • Remaining production must continue 24/7 during the expansion
