  • Planned acquisition of a French battery manufacturer

Area of responsibility:

  • Supply Chain Manager EMEA

Task:

  • Integration of the European business of an acquired competitor, incl. a production plant
  • Fastest possible delivery to customers via own sales and distribution network
  • Integration of IT systems in logistics (SAP)

Measures:

  • Transfer and creation of customer and material master data in the company’s own ERP system before “Day 1”
  • Inventory transfer within a few days of acquisition, followed by start of the sales process in own processes and systems
  • Subsequently, introduction of SAP and complete integration into all company processes (my focus: logistics)

Successes:

  • Restoration of sales capability within three days of formal acquisition
  • Complete and seamless integration into own company processes

Special challenge:

  • Integration of two corporate cultures
  • Rapid restoration of delivery capability in own distribution network and own IT system
