Situation at the client:
- The necessary CO2 reduction of motor vehicles leads to higher demands on battery technology (AGM).
- Growing demand for start-stop batteries (AGM) requires significant capacity expansion at the Hanover site
Area of responsibility:
- AGM Expansion Manager (investments approx. €85m)
Task:
- Management of the capacity expansion project
- In some cases, existing systems are to be converted.
- New plants are to be fully integrated into the existing material flow.
Measures:
- Establishment of a project organization with interfaces to production for effective coordination of conversion and new construction activities
- Development of the new, future-proof factory layout
- Development of the future factory organization
(including training for managers) - Tracking project progress incl. Cost controlling
- Regular communication to the workforce
Successes:
- No production interruptions during the expansion
- Optimized logistical processes
- Future-proof layout with options for further expansions and changes in the future
Special challenge:
- Remaining production must continue 24/7 during the expansion
