- Lack of transparency and missing data on batteries along the life cycle from production to distribution and later recycling

- Improved availability of information about products after delivery to customers
- Availability of data along the product life cycle to improve product characteristics and service for customers (production to end of service life)
Measures:
- Determination of requirements, including: requirements for internal processes and later use of the data
- Development of the solution and coordination with all affected areas
- Market analysis and system selection for software and hardware (e.g. printers and scanners)
- Pilot implementation in a production plant with a product line
- Decision for roll-out of the solution
Successes:
- Traceability of warranty cases possible, i.e. long-term reduction of warranty costs
- Closer customer loyalty through possibilities for B2C marketing
(e.g. product and installation information retrievable) - Diverse possibilities in B2B marketing: connection to the partner portal, collection and evaluation of usage data
(including vehicle, mileage, duration until end of life)
Special challenge:
- Elimination of conflicts of interest due to requirements from different company divisions
- Development of a solution with maximum flexibility for the future at simultaneously low costs
