  • Improved availability of information about products after delivery to customers
  • Availability of data along the product life cycle to improve product characteristics and service for customers (production to end of service life)

  • Determination of requirements, including: requirements for internal processes and later use of the data
  • Development of the solution and coordination with all affected areas
  • Market analysis and system selection for software and hardware (e.g. printers and scanners)
  • Pilot implementation in a production plant with a product line
  • Decision for roll-out of the solution

Successes:

  • Traceability of warranty cases possible, i.e. long-term reduction of warranty costs
  • Closer customer loyalty through possibilities for B2C marketing
    (e.g. product and installation information retrievable)
  • Diverse possibilities in B2B marketing: connection to the partner portal, collection and evaluation of usage data
    (including vehicle, mileage, duration until end of life)

Special challenge:

  • Elimination of conflicts of interest due to requirements from different company divisions
  • Development of a solution with maximum flexibility for the future at simultaneously low costs
